A joyful, modular
identity system

It was mid-2020, and the “Buy Now, Pay Later” trend was all the rage. With an IPO and a brand refresh looming, Affirm had an immediate need for creative work to bridge the gap and kick off the holiday campaign season. 

As the project's creative lead, I worked with a fantastic illustrator to build a design system that was as simple and user-friendly as Affirm’s financial products. These charming, adaptable designs spanned assets from OLV to social media and even our set production. I got to channel all this creativity into a comprehensive style guide, which became the playbook for our freelancers during our holiday sprint.

A $1 million holiday giveaway

For the second phase of our holiday efforts, we teamed up with celebrities like Keke Palmer, Whitney Cummings, and Hasan Minhaj, among others, to promote the “No Gotchas” contest. This campaign put a spotlight on Affirm’s “no hidden fees” policy, inviting anyone to submit their own dramatic fine print readings for a chance to win $10,000, with 10 winners to be announced.
